Everards County League Division Eight

MELTON MOWBRAY 2nd  XI v CROFT SECOND XI

Melton won by 7 wkts

PUT into bat by the home skipper, Croft’s batsmen never really got going as all of the Melton attack found success. Ben Freer was to prove most awkward of the Melton bowlers picking up five wickets and six maidens from his 12 overs as Croft were bowled out for 62.

Despite chasing the low total, Melton lost three wickets to some complacent batting, but Brian Draper ensured the required runs were knocked off before tea for a comfortable victory.

Croft: 62.

Bowling: L. Jones 10-0-30-2; B. Freer 12-6-19-5; S. Booth 4-1-5-2; R. Smallshaw 1.5-0-4-1.

Melton: M. Hurrell 4, G. Richardson 13, S. Smith 13, B. Draper 22*, F. Holmes 8*, Extras 5. Total: 65-3.
