Gracedieu Park won the toss and decided to put Melton into bat. Skipper Mike Pratt opened with infom allrounder Steve Booth. Some tight early bowling was rewarded in the 6th over when Pratt was caught LBW by Clarke for 13. Booth was joined by Brian Draper and between them put on a 37 run partnership before Draper also fell to Clarke for 19. Booth continued to bat well but wickets started to fall at the other end Melton were faultering on 89 for 5.
Booth (59) found support from Steve Taylor (32) but Melton finished on 184, some way short of their preferred target.
Gracedieu Park started comfortably and apart from the loss of an early wicket S.Clarke and M.Padget both completed half centuries and Gracedieu reached the total by 31st over.
